Titan Times Two
“Building on the success of Titan and in an effort to meet the changing needs of our customers, we have developed two new offerings for faster treatments and improved visibility,” said Kevin Connors, president and CEO of Brisbane, California-based Cutera. “All of our Titan customers have the option to upgrade their existing systems.” Titan V has a treatment tip that extends beyond the handpiece housing, enhancing the physician’s visibility and making it easier to treat the delicate eye and nose areas. Titan XL not only extends beyond the housing for unimpeded visibility but also has a treatment spot size that is twice as large as the Titan V’s. A larger spot size speeds up procedures and allows physicians to treat larger body areas, such as the arms, abdomen and legs. “I’ve seen excellent results with the original Titan,” said Amy Taub, MD, founder and medical director of Advanced Dermatology. “And with these two new offerings, I can treat my patients even faster, which saves time and lets me treat more patients.” For more information, call 888.4CUTERA or visit www.cutera.com.

Pattern for Success
The Palomar Lux1540 Fractional Laser Handpiece introduces a new, more effective method for resurfacing the skin (not yet cleared by the FDA). Using patented Fractional Technology to deliver laser pulses as an array of focused microbeams, the device creates a pattern of heated columns in the epidermis and dermis to foster quick collagen remodeling without the discomfort and downtime associated with conventional laser resurfacing treatments. The Lux1540 is an attachment for the popular StarLux Pulsed Light and Laser System. For more information call 800.725.6627 or visit www.palomarmedical.com.
Beyond the Vbeam
A continuation of the successful Vbeam product line, Candela’s new Pulsed Dye Laser Platform features three new models, the Aesthetica, the Platinum and the Perfecta. The Aesthetica (shown) provides optimal rejuvenation results for patients looking to remove both vascular and pigmentation spots on the skin, while the Platinum is ideal for treating patients with a wide variety of vascular lesions. The Perfecta is designed for rejuvenation, vascular and pigmented lesions. “The Perfecta represents a significant leap forward in technology,” says Eric Bernstein, MD, a clinical associate professor of dermatology at the University of Pennsylvania in Bryn Mawr. “With the addition of pigmented lesion capability, practitioners can now remove brown spots from skin with the confidence that comes from the well-documented safety profile of the pulsed dye laser.” For more information on Candela workshops and webcasts visit www.candelalaser.com or call 800.668.2691.
Protective, Healing Sun Care
Innovative Skincare’s new sunscreen formulations not only offer complete, broad-spectrum UV protection, but they also help heal and treat photoaging, oxidative stress and other forms of UV damage. With a combination of nano-encapsulation technology, micronized broad-spectrum protectors (zinc oxide and octinoxate) and working antioxidants (Centella Asiatica, Oleuropein and vitamin E), iS SPF 20 Moisturizing Treatment is clinically proven to reduce UV-induced erythema and inflammation by 45% to 53%. The only SPF product tested in an independent clinical study conducted by Brunswick Laboratories to contain effective levels of antioxidants (ORAC assay), it is available in both a regular and a “PerfecTint” shade suitable for all skin types and safe for oily and acne-prone skin. Safe, Effective and, now, Faster
Thermage introduces the 3.0 cm² ThermaTip to enable practitioners to save time, reduce procedure cost and improve patient comfort. A multicenter clinical study shows that the new ThermaTip not only allows physicians to save time when using the ThermaCool system to tighten existing collagen and stimulate collagen growth, it also expands treatment range to include even the most sensitive patients. “I’ve found that patients treated with the 3.0 cm² ThermaTip are more comfortable and enjoy shorter treatment times due to fewer pulses,” says Michael Kaminer, MD. “The new tip delivers consistent efficacy and improved time efficiency, which will make Thermage easier to incorporate into a busy practice.” For more information log on to www.thermage.com or call 877.782.2286.
